International SOS Security Evacuation
Services |
| |
The International SOS security evacuation service
operates as follows: |
| |
- International SOS monitors emerging situations on a 24
hour basis. We notify our clients of escalated risk by posting
Security Warnings on our website and sending out automatic
emails when we see that business travelers and expatriates
are “at risk”.
- At the Warning level, we dispatch advance teams of security
specialists to the country in crisis to conduct reconnaissance,
liaise with local security, government and ground handling
agencies, provide local support to clients and identify
support requirements for an evacuation. Our account managers
use their clients database to identify those companies with
exposure and contact them to ensure the are aware.
- Concurrently International SOS convenes the Regional
Crisis Management Team. This team includes our integral
aviation, travel assistance, operations, global assistance
network, account management, communications, medical and
finance staff. The team initiates preparation for a mass
evacuation and identifies resources to support the task,
based on feedback from the International SOS advance team.
- Our security team provides frequent updates via the website
and pushes out a “Security Alert” notice when
there in a specific threat to clients, or the law and order
situation shows signs of breaking down. The website contains
specific advice in regard to final preparations for evacuation.
- At this level the Port of Departure teams are deployed
to their respective locations. Contingency plans have been
finalised and all logistic arrangement are in place for
the evacuation.
- Once International SOS assesses that the situation will
deteriorate further we initiate evacuation by posting a
“Security Evacuation Notice” and sending out
auto emails which will specify the client rendezvous locations.
Aircraft are confirmed, clients’ Authorized Persons
are consulted and authorities to initiate the service are
signed.
- Clients are advised to move to their assembly point and
then to the Port of Departure when the flight is due in.
International SOS will refer clients to third party security
companies to provide escort services for road moves as required.
- Reception teams will meet clients at the international
safehaven and provide a full concierge service. Medical
teams will support these efforts and if necessary International
SOS can organize counselors for staff and families affected
by their experience.
